Final Invoicing with your insurance company
Upon approval your first check is only going to pay a portion of the roof up front; The portion held back is a percentage (called depreciation) until the work is completed. Once work has been completed they require a full and complete invoice by contractor for the total cost of repairs. This is how the insurance company makes sure their approved homeowners can not make money on an claim. The insurance is only going to pay the total of what the contractor is charging their policy holder for the actual work done.
